James Garner stars as Jason McCullough in this hilarious Western spoof. This was the era of John Wayne westerns, and this movie came about at fair about the just time to acquire fun of the western and what it had become, often scarcely more than a cookie-cutter production with a predictable residence, scowling gunfighters, and the same basic storyline. Garner is large in his role as the opportunistic, but effective, sheriff. Jack Elam co-stars as his deputy, and the antics of this pair are enough to retain anyone entertained throughout the movie. Anyone familiar with Westerns from this era will luxuriate in the humor of this parody on Hollywood’s Wild West.

This is one of those feeble comedies that you can peep over and over again. My family has outmoded out a VHS copy, so I’m pleased that a DVD release is coming up. This movie not only stars James Garner, but several other current actors from the 60’s & 70’s. Walter Brennan, Harry Morgan, and Jack Elam to name a few. When Jason McColough, played by Garner, rides into town, he finds it moral smack in the middle of a gold rush- and honest smack in the middle of the problems that too considerable too soon can bring. There is fighting in the streets, gunmen shooting up the town, not to mention the revelry going on at Madam Orr’s residence. Needing work to finiance his gold prospecting Garner accepts the job of sherrif. The Mayor (Morgan) happens to have a heavenly but accident prone daughter. Her misadventures while trying to attract the original sherrif’s attention add stout comedy to the location. The sherrif’s work is chop out for him when the Danby’s led by pa Danby (Brennan) try to spring the youngest Danby from jail. He makes the town drunk (Played by Elam) his deputy and from there things impartial catch funnier. When the dust settles everyone is alive and contented. Not the most complicated station ever written, but light comedy is not supposed to be. Easy and fun to see.

Now, my granddaughter is only 20 months frail but she adores Barney. She sings and dances along with him and it is improbable how many of the dances and songs she remembers. It is so cute so here her petite sigh singing the songs legal along with them … and at times she will out of nowhere pop up and initiate singing one of the songs … and dancing one of the dances … Now, her Dad can’t stand Barney, and was totally against her watching Barney to originate with … but as she has learned so mighty from it and is so cute … he has gotten to devour all she has learned and I have noticed him putting the DVD on for her from time-to-time … NOW THAT IS A RECOMMENDATION!!! It was also cute for my daughter and I, to notice so many of the kids that had grown up … as she unruffled has VHS Barney videos that were her son’s that are almost 10 years used. Barney never goes out of date or out of style.

This DVD does a satisfactory job though-provoking hastily from song to song and it really seems to preserve my daughter’s attention. It is a slight long for her to sit through entirely but she loves Barney and gets wrathful when the first song comes on. I deem it is one of the better Barney videos because I don’t have to search for the bonus material and fetch the songs for her. She can unprejudiced leer the movie.

I have often view upon viewing the prequel trilogy, the intervening years between the modern and the original. To be certain, most of the criticisms of the original trilogy are adult in nature. Which brings me to the crown jewel of the prequel trilogy. “Revenge of the Sith” is the second best film of all six, ranking only slack “The Empire Strikes Attend” in terms of depth an substance. The acting is better and the writing, if not terrific, is helped by a game cast and a ride that doesn’t allow you to find your breath. Hayden Christiansan, for the most share, owns this role, displaying an adult gravity he was unable to prove in the dramatically clunky “Attack of the Clones” The rage, frustration, and scare contrasted with Anakin’s heroism and confidence in the face of battle made for a complex character who you found yourself rooting for despite the story’s preordained outcome.

The special effects, as usual, are outstanding, but for the most section benefit the film this time. There are points during the first two prequel films that you feel Lucas and Co. are simply showing off some of their shimmering recent toys, but in this film there is a more concrete sense of purpose.

Dramatically the film belongs to Ian McDiarmid. His performance creates the proper balance of charm and villiany and by doing so makes Anakin’s turn all the more believable even though the turn itself feels a tad sudden. In fact, I dare say that I enjoyed McDiarmid more when he was under the guise of Palpatine than when he fully reveals himself as Sidious. The scene during the opera is one of the grand dramatic highpoints of any of the six movies.

As for the flaws: obvious, there were a few. I would like to have seen a more galvanizing series of events leading to Anakin’s turn, perhaps some more perceived betrayals at the hands of the Jedi Council? I would like to have seen a more fleshed out performance by Natalie Portman, who seems to be more of an afterthought than a character in the third film. (On a side trace, Portman is a terrific actress, but was, in this humble reviewer’s belief, the most ill-served of the entire cast by the clunky dialogue that pervades all three films.)

The one section to which I didn’t object that seemed to be the bane of many Star Wars fans is the scene enchanting the birth of Vader. I liked the allusions to “Frankenstein” for that is what Vader’s legend eventually becomes in the following trilogy: a search for his humanity, grand like Mary Shelley’s creation.

I also didn’t have a predicament with Vader’s reaction to the fact he’d caused Padme’s death. You have to remember that, despite the fact that he now has James Earl Jones’ booming state, he’s collected Anakin and detached very young. It does sound peculiar, I admit, but it’s level-headed completely in character. You also have to remember that Darth Vader will have a kindly 20 to 25 years to complete his transformation into the icy, remorseless killing machine we approach to know and esteem in Episode IV.

In all, “Revenge of the Sith” does a terrific job of tying things together in a manner that harkens benefit to when I was a child watching Star Wars for the first time. It’s impossible, as an adult, to completely dismiss some of the flaws in the later films, but Episode III definitely comes halt. It is a fair fraction of escapist filmaking that has heart, soul, and character and I would highly recommend it to anyone, Star Wars fan or no, looking for a fun time at the movies.

I never really understood what was so colossal about the Star Wars movies when I was growing up. I was born after the originals were released, so I was never a portion of that “culture” that Star Wars is. I saw them when I was around 13 or 14 and fell asleep before the waste of all three. I never had the desire to really peer them again until Phantom Menace came out. I didn’t gaze it in theaters, but I watched it, liked it, and waited for the next one to arrive out. I liked Episode II a lot better (I have to admit that half of that appreciation is because I cherish Haydn), but I serene didn’t really “earn” Star Wars. Well, I saw the triler for the third film, and I notion it looked really top-notch. I also opinion it was going to be murky, but I didn’t realize that I was going to yowl all the procedure home from the movie theater! After the experience of seeing Episode III, I now finally understand what Star Wars is all about, and I fancy it! This movie perfectly ties the two trilogies together. It is so emotionally great. I know a lot of people say that George Lucas can’t write diologue and can’t announce anything but action scenes, but I completely disagree. Though some lines are a bit corny, each scene is treated with a big amount of care and sets up your emotions so that you react to sure gloomy cercumstances (I’m positive you know what I’m refering to) in a very personal diagram. I have watched all three of the first series since seeing Episode III, and I luxuriate in them so noteworthy, because now I understand!

Coach Lindsey Webb (Janelle Schremmer) is a second year PE teacher. A stickler to the rules, she stalks the halls, taking her colleagues to task for not upholding the tardy policy. However, at least in her occupy classes, her vibrant presence takes an admirable tack. One of the first things she lets us know is that objective because she wears short hair and is a PE teacher, doesn’t mean she’s cheerful.

Mrs. Reddell (Shannon Haragan) is a first year assistant essential. Both she and her colleagues are apprehensive at how different things are when she steps out of the classroom. Troy Schremmer as first-year teacher Mr. Lowrey is a fish out of water who gets off on the corrupt foot the first day, wrangles with students over misbehavior and ringing cell phones, and eventually evolves as his students choose miraculously not to give up on him. His fellow teachers have their hold griefs, gripes, and conflicts – sometimes with students and sometimes with each other.

It was a lot better than I expected! They animation is a petite awkward at times, but very fine! The songs are nice too; my personal accepted is “Taking You Home.” The music is awesome!

Just because it’s not a Christian movie doesn’t mean that it offends that religion. It doesn’t say anything against it–it objective happens to be based on different beliefs, that’s all! Peer at me–I’m a staunch Christian and this is one of my current movies. Hey–I like Native American chants and totem poles and stuff. That’s Icy. The music is exquisite in this movie. “Who You Really Are” and “The Sizable Do” are both totally top notch. “Muru’s Chant” was also suited. “Somebody Loves You”? Eh…that one wasn’t all that spacious. But it was unexcited a nice song.

One of the main reasons I like this film so noteworthy was because it had more wolves in it than the last movie. I mean, clear, Balto supported wolves, but its sequal does it even more.

All honest, I admit it–the ending was unbiased a tad dissapointing the first few times I saw the movie. But I got mature to it and learned to peer at it as a cliffhanger moment. I won’t spoil the ending for you.

The animation is loads better (it might be unprejudiced a itsy-bitsy difficult for you to sight Balto when you first leer him, but that’s because of the clear change in the art) . The scenery is beautiful–in some parts, the water is computer inspiring and awesome.

Am I elated I decided to rent this movie! Like the theme of this movie, it was a capable twist of fate that I got it.

I don’t know how to build the brilliance of this movie into words. In the vein of “Pulp Fiction”, “Rush Lola Speed”, and “Before the Rain”, “Lovers of the Arctic Circle” is a complex movie that dares to defy conventions of storytelling–using multi-perspectives, circular storylines, coincidences. This is not for everyone, since some people honest like their stories to be flung onto their plates, challenges aside.

The chronicle penetrates into the psyche by not telling it through one person’s eyes–but both–the two lovers, Ana and Otto. This contrivance of storytelling heightens our perspectives and increases the depth of emotion and concept. The legend tells how Ana and Otto drop in appreciate as children, and how their savor only grows stronger throughout the years, despite trials and tribulations. Both perspectives weave in and out, combine once–and split at the very kill. One ending is contented, the other is tragic–one is Ana’s, the other is Otto’s.

The narrative concerns Otto and Ana, two children who met when they were eight, and whose lives become entwined further when Otto’s father and Ana’s mother marry. The Waltons takes residence during the era of the enormous depression. Spencer’s Mountain has the 1950’s written all over it although it never gives a particular time. She is a satisfactory, church going woman and the anchor of the family. James MacArthur plays the eldest son. He is dutiful but yearns to secure away and better himself. He wants to do something besides work in the quarry all his life.

As I said before, it is all very wholesome fare. I don’t believe it’s as noble as the Waltons but it is aloof very worthy.

This is composed one of my primitive time favorites. Tall acting, breaktaking landscapes, amazing music get and a lawful message that we in this recent century will never spy the likes of again. This is pure entertainment from beginning to kill. The struggles of growing up, first treasure kiss, a father’s cherish for his wife and kids (rare these days) and the togetherness of the American family that no longer exist. If you need an education or weather you impartial want to scrutinize a broad older film this is the one for you and it is satisfactory for all ages which even the “G” rated films of today are questionable. You won’t go snide. You’ll laugh and you’ll shout and say I remember it well.

As a musical theater purist, I was concerned that a movie musical with 3 of Hollywoods A list stars would be a hinderance rather than a relieve in the “revival” of the genre. I must say that I was blown away by the sheer genius and excellence of the film.

Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Velma was equal to, if not better than Bebe Neuwerth’s ( Brodway revival) . Her fair allege and masterful dance skill is valid of the substantial white device. A Tony may have been a more appropriate award as opposed to her distinguished deserved Oscar. Although Rene Zellwegers insist was a small shaky in the begining she brought out a tough side in Roxy that was not there in neither the recent nor the revival stage versions. Then my biggest panic, Richard Gere as Billy Flinn, was in a word perfect. You can’t ask for a better fit, and what a shocker to seek that fantastic tapdance!

Also with substantial cameos and supporting performances by the huge Chita Rivera ( current broadway cast),John C. Win Marshall’s directorial debut deserves all of it’s accolades…and all that jazz.

It is the 1920s in Chicago and we enter this musical film through a saucy nightclub to examine Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones) performing a duo act of All that Jazz on her enjoy. Only later is it revealed what happened to her sister who was supposed to be the second half of the act. Next we meet Roxie Hart (Renée Zellweger) who is a naive girl with large dreams of stardom who goes to the slammer for killing her lover. From the moment she enters and we peep a brief flash of her imagining herself on stage, we are aware that this film is half reality and half Roxie’s dream. Ambitious Roxie has to gain a draw to pick up herself out of prison and onto the stage. To do this she creates an innocent persona that is designed by her tranquil talking lawyer Billy Flynn (Richard Gere) for the media to bring the public to her serve. With his serve and the sassy matron of the women’s prison ‘Mama’ Morton (Queen Larifah) Roxie eclipses Velma Kelly’s prison girl fame. The greatest reason for this film’s success is due to the glorious ensemble of actors many of whom (with the exception of Queen Larifah) we aren’t familiar with hearing direct. The cast all excel in both in their musical numbers and acting performances. Catherine Zeta-Jones looks delicate and is fun in her catty diva role. Renée Zellweger is perfect for her fragment of the innocent, but peaceful clear and quietly vicious, Roxie who will discontinuance at nothing to become a star. Like in the striking film Nurse Betty, Zellweger’s character again confuses reality with her dreams and her subtle facial shifts and movement meaningfully portray her psychological conflict. Most surprisingly, Richard Gere delivers a extraordinary performance as the slimy lawyer proving that this actor can really do comedy well. I saw this movie twice in the theater – very original for someone as significant of movies as I am. The first time I went by myself, and the second time I took my husband, who was not initially enthusiastic in the narrative line (espionage and all) . He also liked it a lot (though he did not have as mighty of a personal connection as I did with the film) . I was like in a zone for a few days after I saw the movie. It really shook me to the core in a sense. A very grand movie in and of itself, it moves me particularly because I am orinigally from China and Eileen Chang was one of my faovrite writers when I was a teenager book worm. Having grown up surrounded by the communisit propaganda, I found it refreshing to examine a movie so artfully done to invent a theme about savor, birth controluality and loyalty. It shows how innocent and ignorant the young revolutionaries could be (something that was obviously omitted from our history lessons) . This is a movie about distinguished human emotions, like all the other movies directed by Ang Lee. I’m also cheerful to notice Ang Lee sticking to making movies based on estimable, solid stories, instead of falling into the ‘glitz overriding story’ trap like so many other talented Chinese directors, Zhang Yimou and Cheng Kaige specifically.

Ang Lee said that he made this film for the Chinese audience, but I also read that he was disappointed by the fact that the Chinese media focused predominantly on the raw, birth control scenes. I can understand his frustration. I wonder really how the mainland Chinese will embrace such a fable. Eileen Chang was never a Communist writer. In the book and the movie, the revolutionaries were referred to as ‘the people from Chongqing.’ As the Nationalist Party was based in Chongqing at the time (and the Communists in Yan’an), the revoluntionaries in the book were not Communinist members but Nationalists. That sort of contradicts everything we have learned in history lessons about the Communisit being the main heroes fighting against the Japanese and the Nationalists (the Kuomingtang) being wimpy traitors. Because of these reasons, I doubt mainland China will allow the movie to be shown in public.

But it doesn’t mean the Chinese will be denied access to this stunning film, thanks to the illegal DVD pirating industry. My sister-in-law in China has already bought the film (for a dollar) and watched it. Comical thing is she had very similar reaction to it as I did. My brother said she wouldn’t talk to him for a few hours.

I disagree with some critics who called Ang Lee ‘indecisive’ in directing the movie. I consider everything was very deliberately done and Ang Lee was very sure on what he planned to do with the memoir. He said that it was one of his common stories written by Eileen Chang. I negate if you don’t like the yarn (such as some other reviewers), you wouldn’t like the movie. But to me, the narrative can be interpreted in many ways, and Ang Lee has done a quick-witted job conveying what Eileen Chang wanted her yarn to articulate. The birth control scenes (not in the book) are integral to the memoir, as Eileen Chang wrote, “If the path to a man’s heart is through his stomache, then the path to a woman’s heart is through her v….” The movie is certainly not for the faint of heart.

By the plan, the soundtrack is splendid. I downloaded it from iTunes. Before I receive the DVD in the mail, the soundtrack will do. (But I wouldn’t want a Chinese film that’s dubbed in English. That’s a crime. I’m buying it from somewhere else.)
